Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on a private firm owner for pasting advertisement posters without permission in the Vadavalli area of Siruvani Road, Ward 40, West Zone.

According to Corporation regulations, firms intending to display advertisement posters in public spaces must obtain prior approval from the civic body. However, this particular firm was found to have pasted posters in the Vadavalli locality without securing any such permission.

Following the discovery, Corporation officials initiated legal action and levied a penalty of Rs 10,000 on the private firm owner. The Corporation administration has confirmed that the imposed fine amount has been deposited in the treasury.

Unauthorized display of advertisements in public spaces is a punishable offence under law. The Corporation continues to conduct regular monitoring operations to preserve the city's aesthetics and maintain cleanliness standards. Such enforcement actions serve as a deterrent against civic violations and unauthorized commercial activities in public areas.

The civic body has urged all businesses and advertising agencies to follow proper procedures and obtain necessary permissions before displaying any promotional material in public spaces to avoid legal penalties.
