Coimbatore: Kumaraguru Institutions has joined forces with Kousika Neerkarangal to launch a community-driven initiative aimed at restoring and protecting Chinnavedampatti Lake. The collaborative effort invites citizens to participate in creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment through systematic lake restoration activities.

The volunteer drive will commence on July 5, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and will continue every Sunday thereafter. Participants will engage in various activities including lake cleaning, waste removal, tree plantation, and water conservation measures designed to revive the lake ecosystem.

According to the organizers, this is an ongoing volunteer initiative where restoration drives will be conducted regularly every Sunday. Interested volunteers need to register only once to become part of the dedicated team working towards lake restoration. The flexible participation model allows individuals to contribute for one Sunday or commit to multiple sessions, with every contribution making a meaningful difference.

The initiative emphasizes community involvement in environmental conservation, recognizing that collective small efforts can create lasting impacts on both the local community and the broader environment. The restoration project aims to address the degradation of Chinnavedampatti Lake and restore its ecological balance.
