Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar received the Chief Minister’s Certificate of Appreciation and Award for 2025–26 in recognition of the district’s exemplary performance across all 20 health indicators under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, IAS, has been honoured with the Chief Minister’s Certificate of Appreciation and Award for 2025–26 in recognition of the district’s outstanding performance across all 20 health indicators assessed by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The award was presented by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during the District Collectors, Police and Forest Officers’ Conference held at Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai in the Secretariat, Chennai, on Tuesday.
The recognition acknowledges Coimbatore district’s consistent excellence across all 20 public health indicators during the 2025–26 assessment period, reflecting the district administration’s effective implementation of healthcare programmes and delivery of public health services.
Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar assumed charge as the 184th District Collector of Coimbatore on February 13, 2025, succeeding Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS. Prior to his posting in Coimbatore, the 2016-batch IAS officer served as Joint Secretary in the Public Department at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat and has held several key administrative positions, including Commissioner of the Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation and Additional Collector (Development) in Cuddalore district.

Former Dindigul District Collector S. Saravanan, IAS, and former Namakkal District Collector Durga Moorthy, IAS, were also honoured with the same award for their contributions to public health administration.
The award ceremony was attended by Ministers, Chief Secretary Dr. M. Saikumar, IAS, and other senior government officials.
