Passengers travelling on the Alappuzha–Dhanbad Express via Coimbatore and the Ernakulam–Tatanagar Express should expect delays on June 29 and July 1 as Southern Railway undertakes sleeper renewal works in the Erode–Salem section.
Coimbatore: Southern Railway has announced the temporary regulation of two long-distance express trains passing through the Salem Division owing to sleeper renewal works being carried out between Magudanchavadi and Virapandy Road railway stations in the Erode–Salem section.
According to an official release, Train No. 18190 Ernakulam–Tatanagar Express (via Podanur, Salem and Jolarpettai), scheduled to depart Ernakulam Junction at 7.15 a.m., will be regulated by 50 minutes at a convenient location en route on June 29 and July 1.
Similarly, Train No. 13352 Alappuzha–Dhanbad Express (via Coimbatore, Salem and Jolarpettai), scheduled to leave Alappuzha at 6 a.m., will be regulated by 20 minutes at a convenient location en route on June 29 and July 1.
Southern Railway said the temporary regulation has been necessitated to facilitate sleeper renewal works aimed at improving track safety and operational efficiency. Passengers travelling on these services have been advised to factor in the expected delays while planning their journeys.
