Minister Sampathkumar Reviews Coimbatore Corporation Development Works

Backward Classes Welfare Minister V Sampathkumar chaired a review meeting on Coimbatore Corporation development works. He instructed officials to provide immediate solutions to public grievances regarding drinking water, roads, sanitation, and street lights. The Minister personally inspected Seeranaickenpalayam and Thondamuthur areas.


Coimbatore: A review meeting on development works being undertaken by Coimbatore Corporation was held today (27.06.2026) under the chairmanship of Backward Classes Welfare Minister V Sampathkumar, in the presence of Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja, as per the instructions of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.



Various development projects are being implemented in areas under Coimbatore Corporation for the benefit of the public. A detailed review of works being carried out in areas under the Corporation's 5 zones was conducted in this meeting.



Speaking at the meeting, Minister V Sampathkumar instructed officials to take immediate action and resolve public grievances related to drinking water projects, road works, sanitation and cleanliness works, and street lights. He stated that concerned officers should work without any shortcomings in these basic facilities.



On 26.06.2026, the Minister conducted a surprise inspection of blockages in the drainage canal in Seeranaickenpalayam area under Ward No. 75 of the West Zone and instructed to repair them. Later, he personally visited and inspected the canal area leading to Krishnampathi Lake in Thondamuthur Road, Veerakeralam area under Ward No. 40.

The meeting was attended by Corporation Deputy Commissioners T Kumaresan and R Saraswathi, Corporation Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, City Health Officer Dr Subash Gandhi, and several other Corporation officials.
