COIMBATORE: Ganga Nursing College, Coimbatore, conducted an anti-drug awareness programme at the Gandhipuram bus stand on Tuesday evening to sensitise the public and youth to the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The programme, held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., aimed to create awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of preventing its spread in society.

The event began with a flash mob, followed by a mime performance by students, highlighting the adverse impact of drug abuse in an emotional and engaging manner.
Police personnel were also present and extended support by making the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme and ensuring public safety.

Dr. Shyam of Ganga Hospital and Medical Centre addressed the gathering and spoke about the ill-effects of drug abuse and the ways to prevent addiction.
The programme concluded with participants and members of the public taking a pledge — “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” — reaffirming their commitment to building a drug-free society.
