Coimbatore Police Crack Anaimalai House Thefts; Four Arrested with Stolen Valuables

Four habitual offenders from Madurai were arrested by Coimbatore District Police in connection with house break theft cases reported in Anaimalai. Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police A. Pavan Kumar, special teams led by Valparai DSP Pavithra apprehended the accused during a vehicle check.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Police have arrested four persons from Madurai in connection with a series of house break thefts reported under Anaimalai Police Station limits, recovering stolen gold jewellery, silver articles, cash, burglary tools and a vehicle allegedly used in the offences.




Police said two house break theft cases were registered in Anaimalai in which 4 sovereigns of gold jewellery, 4.120 kg of silver articles and ₹40,000 in cash were stolen from houses. Following the incidents, special teams headed by Valparai Deputy Superintendent of Police Pavithra conducted intensive investigations under the directions of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar Reddy,IPS.




During a vehicle check operation in Alangadavu area, police intercepted four suspicious persons and upon inquiry established their involvement in the theft cases. The arrested accused have been identified as Kodiswara Muthu (37), Gopi alias Gudlu (22), Velmurugan (24) and Pechimuthu (31), all natives of Madurai district.




During the operation, police recovered 4 sovereigns of gold jewellery, 4.120 kg of silver articles, ₹25,000 in cash, tools used for committing the thefts and a four-wheeler allegedly used by the accused. The recovered property has been seized and the accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.




Further investigations revealed that the arrested individuals are allegedly involved in several other criminal cases across the district. Police said efforts are underway to verify their links to additional offences and identify other potential accomplices.




The Superintendent of Police has warned that stringent action will be taken against those involved in criminal activities and urged the public to share information about crimes or suspicious movements with the district police control room or nearest police station.
