New Chief Minister’s Portraits Installed at Coimbatore Collectorate

Following the swearing-in of TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay as the 13th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, government offices across the state have begun replacing old portraits with photographs of the new Chief Minister.

Coimbatore: Installation of new portraits of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is currently underway at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, drawing attention from visitors and officials alike.

Marking a major turning point in Tamil Nadu’s political history, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam secured a sweeping victory in the 2026 Assembly elections, following which party founder and leader C. Joseph Vijay, popularly known as “Thalapathy” Vijay, was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10.

Following the change in government, offices across the state have begun updating official displays with portraits of the new Chief Minister. As part of this transition, photographs of former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Coimbatore District Collectorate are being removed and replaced with new portraits of Chief Minister Vijay.

The installation work is progressing rapidly across key sections of the Collectorate, including the main entrance, conference halls, and offices of senior officials, where the new portraits have begun appearing prominently.

The replacement of portraits inside government offices has attracted considerable public attention. Visitors at the Collectorate premises watched the installation process with curiosity and enthusiasm, with many capturing photographs and videos of the newly displayed portraits on their mobile phones.
