New Chief Minister's Portraits Installed at Coimbatore Collector Office

Following C Joseph Vijay's swearing-in as Tamil Nadu's 13th Chief Minister on May 10, his portraits are being installed at government offices across the state. At Coimbatore District Collector's office, the new Chief Minister's photographs have replaced previous portraits, marking a historic political transition.


Coimbatore: In a historic political turning point, C Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy), leader of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, was sworn in as Tamil Nadu's 13th Chief Minister on May 10, following his party's landslide victory in the 2026 Assembly elections. The change in administration has triggered a swift transformation across government offices statewide, with new portraits of the Chief Minister being installed.



At the Coimbatore District Collector's office, old photographs have been removed and replaced with portraits of the new Chief Minister Vijay. The installation work is progressing briskly at various locations within the administrative complex.



The new Chief Minister's portraits now adorn the Collector office entrance, conference halls, and senior officials' chambers. This photographic transition symbolizes the end of decades-long bipolar politics in Tamil Nadu, as people have ushered in a new era of political change.



The portrait replacement ceremony at the Collector's office complex attracted considerable public attention. Visitors and staff members enthusiastically watched the installation process, with many capturing the historic moment on their mobile phones. District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar's office witnessed significant public interest as the new portraits were being mounted, marking the beginning of a new administrative chapter in Coimbatore district under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay.
