Individuals who have made significant contributions in fields such as art, literature, education, sports, medicine, social service, science, public affairs, civil service, trade, and industry are eligible to apply for these awards. The Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honors in the country, announced on Republic Day and conferred by the President of India in January or February.
According to the announcement, applicants can apply directly in Tamil or English through the Tamil Nadu Government's awards portal at https://awards.tn.gov.in/. Self-nominations are accepted, and individuals can also nominate others on their behalf.
Eligible persons from Coimbatore district must submit their applications by May 25 to the District Social Welfare Officer, District Social Welfare Office, Room No. 5, Ground Floor, Old Building, District Collectorate Complex, Coimbatore – 641018. The District Collector made this announcement today.
