Coimbatore Records 38.62% Polling Till 11 AM; Kavundampalayam Leads Turnout

Polling in Coimbatore district is progressing steadily in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, with an overall voter turnout of 38.62% recorded till 11 AM. Kavundampalayam registered the highest polling percentage, while Coimbatore North reported the lowest turnout so far.


Coimbatore: Polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 is underway peacefully across Coimbatore district, with voters turning up in good numbers since early morning.



According to official data, the district recorded an overall voter turnout of 38.62% till 11 AM. Long queues were witnessed at several polling booths as voters arrived early to cast their ballots.



Among the Assembly constituencies, Kavundampalayam recorded the highest turnout at 41.99%, followed by Sulur at 40.54% and Kinathukadavu at 39.16%.

Valparai – 35.25%

Pollachi – 38.76%

Kinathukadavu – 39.16%

Coimbatore South – 37.03%

Coimbatore North – 22.00%

Thondamuthur – 38.41%

Kavundampalayam – 41.99%

Singanallur – 38.59%

Sulur – 40.54%

Mettupalayam – 37.90%

Election officials said polling is proceeding smoothly under tight security arrangements, with all necessary facilities provided at polling stations. Polling is expected to slow down after 1 PM due to peak summer heat and gain momentum again after 3 PM or 4 PM. Voting will conclude at 6 PM.
