Devanga Chettiar community extends support to Pollachi DMK candidate..!

At a coordination meeting, members of the Devanga Chettiar community unanimously resolved to extend full support to Nithiyanandhan, the Secular Progressive Alliance candidate contesting from Pollachi in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Coimbatore: A coordination meeting of the Devanga Chettiar community was held at a private marriage hall on Palladam Road in Pollachi.

Addressing the gathering, community representatives said the DMK government had introduced and implemented several welfare measures for weavers over the past five years. They noted that schemes such as free electricity for weavers had helped improve their livelihoods and provided much-needed support to the weaving community.

Citing these initiatives, the community unanimously decided to extend full support to Nithiyanandhan, the DMK candidate contesting from the Pollachi constituency in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

They also announced that members of the community would actively take part in campaign activities in support of the candidate and expressed confidence in voting for the alliance’s Rising Sun symbol in the polls.

The meeting was chaired by Nagaraj, Deputy Organiser of the DMK State Weavers Wing. Among those present were Dr. R. Mahendran, DMK Election observer for Pollachi and Valparai constituencies, Pollachi candidate Nithyanandhan, Municipal Chairperson Shyamala, Pollachi North Town Secretary Navaneethakrishnan, and a large number of members of the Devanga Chettiar community.
