DMK Hoists Black Flags at Thondamuthur Constituency Office Against BJP Government's Delimitation Move

DMK party functionaries hoisted black flags at Thondamuthur constituency office in Coimbatore today, protesting against the BJP government's delimitation exercise. Party leaders termed the move a historic injustice to Tamil Nadu and southern states that practiced population control measures effectively.

Coimbatore: DMK party functionaries staged a strong protest at the Thondamuthur constituency office in Coimbatore today by hoisting black flags against the BJP government's delimitation exercise. The demonstration marked the party's firm opposition to the proposed constituency reorganization that could impact Tamil Nadu's parliamentary representation.

Party administrators who participated in the protest condemned the constitutional amendment as a monumental historic injustice being meted out to Tamil Nadu and southern states. They emphasized that states which successfully implemented population control measures are now being penalized through reduced representation.

The protesters raised slogans demanding that this arrogant approach of reducing parliamentary representation for states that properly followed population control norms must be defeated. The DMK functionaries argued that the delimitation exercise unfairly punishes states that have shown responsible governance in population management.

During the gathering, party members resolved to continue their agitation against this decision by the BJP government. The meeting concluded with a firm decision to organize sustained protests and mobilize public opinion against what they termed as discriminatory delimitation policies.

The DMK's protest reflects growing concerns among southern states about potential loss of political representation in Parliament due to their success in population stabilization programs compared to other states.
