Coimbatore Trains to Run Late Due to Track Upgrade Work at Valayar

Railway track upgrade work at Valayar under Palakkad Division will cause delays to Coimbatore trains on select dates in April. Coimbatore-Mangaluru Central and Palakkad-Tiruchirappalli Express trains will depart 25 and 20 minutes late respectively, while Coimbatore-Shoranur passenger train stands cancelled on two days.


Coimbatore: Railway passengers travelling from Coimbatore are advised to plan their journeys carefully as several trains will face delays and cancellations in mid-April due to track upgrade work at Valayar, which falls under the Palakkad Railway Division.

According to an official statement released by the Palakkad Railway Division administration, track improvement work is scheduled to be carried out at Valayar section, which will impact train operations on specific dates in April.

The Coimbatore-Mangaluru Central train (No. 16323) will depart 25 minutes late on April 11 and 14. The Palakkad-Tiruchirappalli Express (No. 16844) will leave 20 minutes behind schedule on April 11, 14, and 19.

Additionally, the Coimbatore-Shoranur Passenger train (No. 56603) has been completely cancelled on April 12 and 17 due to the ongoing track upgrade work.

Railway officials have urged passengers to check updated train timings before commencing their travel and make necessary arrangements to accommodate the delays. The track improvement work is part of ongoing efforts to enhance railway infrastructure and ensure better connectivity in the region.

Passengers are advised to arrive at railway stations well in advance and stay updated with official railway announcements for any further changes to the schedule.
