Traffic Diversion on Coimbatore-Dindigul NH Today for Udumalpet Mariamman Temple Chariot Festival

Traffic will be diverted on the Coimbatore-Dindigul National Highway from 1 PM to 11 PM today due to the Udumalpet Mariamman Temple chariot festival scheduled at 4 PM. Vehicles must use alternative routes via Palappampatti and Ragal Pavi junction to reach their destinations.


Tirupur: Traffic diversion has been announced on the Coimbatore-Dindigul National Highway today from 1 PM to 11 PM due to the Udumalpet Mariamman Temple chariot festival scheduled to take place at 4 PM this evening in Udumalpet, Tirupur District.



Vehicles traveling from Palani to Coimbatore and Pollachi via Udumalpet will need to take an alternative route. These vehicles should divert from the Palappampatti National Highway junction and proceed via the four-lane road to reach the Pollachi road again.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Pollachi towards Udumalpet and Palani should take the diversion at Ragal Pavi junction. From there, they can proceed via Palladam Road and Dharapuram Road junction to rejoin the Palani road.

The traffic diversion arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the smooth conduct of the annual temple chariot festival, which typically draws large crowds of devotees. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time. Local police will be stationed at key junctions to guide motorists along the alternative routes.
