DMK candidate Senthil Balaji inaugurated his election office in Coimbatore South, stating he will win by highlighting government achievements and not by underestimating opponents.
Coimbatore:
Former minister Senthil Balaji, who has been announced as the DMK candidate for the Coimbatore South Assembly constituency, on Sunday inaugurated his election campaign office in Gandhipuram and expressed confidence of securing victory by highlighting the government’s achievements.

The inauguration event saw the participation of DMK functionaries and alliance party members, with party cadres welcoming him enthusiastically. Following the opening of the office, Senthil Balaji addressed reporters and outlined his campaign approach.

He stated that his focus would be on presenting the achievements of the DMK government and the leadership of Chief Minister M K Stalin rather than criticising opponents. He said the party has carried out extensive groundwork, including voter list verification, after the parliamentary elections and that people are inclined towards bringing the DMK back to power.

Senthil Balaji expressed confidence that the DMK alliance would secure a strong victory across all ten constituencies in Coimbatore district. Referring to his candidature, he said he had previously contested and won from Karur and Aravakurichi and that he would now work towards victory in Coimbatore South as directed by the party leadership.

Responding to claims by AIADMK candidate Amman Arjunan about winning by a margin of 50,000 votes, Senthil Balaji said such statements are expected during elections and added that the results would reflect the public’s choice.

He also highlighted key announcements in the DMK’s election manifesto, including the plan to replace pump sets for 20 lakh farmers across Tamil Nadu, which he said has been welcomed by pump manufacturers.

Listing development initiatives, he said projects such as the G. D. Naidu flyover and Semmozhi Park have been implemented, and works worth ₹8,700 crore have been carried out in the past five years in the region. He added that more development projects would be announced and executed for Coimbatore South.
Stating that he is not contesting the election to underestimate any opponent, Senthil Balaji reiterated that the campaign would focus on governance, welfare schemes and converting beneficiaries into voter support for the DMK alliance.
