Water Supply Disruption in Parts of Coimbatore on October 9 and 10 Due to Maintenance Work

Coimbatore Corporation announces water supply interruption in several areas on October 9 and 10 due to maintenance work on Pillur III drinking water scheme infrastructure. Residents urged to use water judiciously.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has announced that there will be no water supply in certain areas of the city on October 9 and 10, 2024, due to maintenance work on the Pillur III drinking water scheme infrastructure.

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) will be carrying out monthly maintenance work on the infrastructure at the main pumping station on the Bhavani River and the water treatment plant in Marudur area on October 8, 2024. As a result, power supply to these facilities will be suspended from 6 AM on that day.

Following this, essential maintenance work on the Pillur III scheme infrastructure will be undertaken on October 9, 2024. Consequently, water supply will be disrupted on both October 9 and 10, 2024.

The areas that will be affected by the water supply disruption include Thudiyalur, Vellakinaru, Chinnvedampatti, Kalappatti, Vilankurichi, Koundampalayam, Vadvalli Kurichi, and Kuniamuthur.

Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS has requested the public to use water judiciously and cooperate with the Corporation during this period of maintenance work.
