Man Arrested for Ganja Sale in Kovilpalayam Area, Coimbatore

Coimbatore police arrested a 56-year-old man in Kovilpalayam on October 3rd for selling ganja. The suspect was caught with 2 kg of ganja following a tip-off about illegal drug sales in the area.


Coimbatore: The Kovilpalayam police in Coimbatore's Annur region have arrested a man for selling ganja in the area. Acting on a tip-off about illegal cannabis sales, the special police team conducted an operation on October 3rd near Vaiyapuri Nagar.

The police apprehended a suspicious-looking individual and upon searching, found him in possession of ganja intended for sale. The arrested person has been identified as Prakash, a 56-year-old resident of Periyanaickenpalayam area.

During the operation, the police seized 2 kilograms of ganja from Prakash. Following his arrest, he was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Coimbatore police to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region. The authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug sales or consumption to help maintain law and order in the city.
