Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin designated as Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu; Senthil Balaji regains same ministry after bail release

In a significant cabinet reshuffle, Udhayanidhi Stalin was appointed Deputy Chief Minister, and four new ministers, including V. Senthil Balaji, were inducted. Mano Thangaraj, Gingee Masthan, and K. Ramachandran were dropped from the Cabinet.

In a significant political development in Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, has been designated as the Deputy Chief Minister. This change comes along with the allotment of the additional portfolio of Planning and Development to Udhayanidhi Stalin, as approved by the Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu following the recommendation of the Hon'ble Chief Minister.

The cabinet reshuffle also saw the induction of four new ministers into the Council of Ministers. The new members include V. Senthil Balaji, Dr. Govi Chezhiaan, R. Rajenderan, and S.M. Nasar. These appointments have also been approved by the Governor.

The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed ministers will take place on 29th September 2024, at 3:30 PM in Raj Bhavan, Chennai.

In addition to the new appointments, the Hon'ble Governor has approved the recommendation of the Chief Minister to drop T. Mano Thangaraj, Minister for Milk & Dairy Development, Gingee K.S. Masthan, Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, and K. Ramachandran, Minister for Tourism, from the Council of Ministers.

This reshuffle marks a significant restructuring in the Tamil Nadu cabinet and reflects the evolving political landscape in the state.
