Coimbatore: ADMK MLA S.P. Velumani accused the DMK government of abandoning the Anamalayaru-Nallar project during an AIADMK public meeting held near Pollachi. The event, which took place in Ramanamuthaliputur, was organized by the Anamalai East Union AIADMK to celebrate the 116th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna and distribute new membership cards.

The meeting was presided over by Anamalai East Union Secretary Sundaram. District MGR Forum Deputy Secretary Mahlingam welcomed the gathering. S.P. Velumani, current MLA of Thondamuthur constituency, attended as the special guest and addressed the audience.

In his speech, Velumani highlighted the achievements of the AIADMK government, stating that they had reclaimed Tamil Nadu's rights on issues such as Cauvery water, Mullaperiyar Dam, and fishermen's problems. He criticized the current DMK government, claiming that no schemes had been implemented in the past three years.

Velumani further stated that during the AIADMK rule, then-Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had held talks with the Kerala government and formed a committee to implement the Anamalayaru-Nallar project. However, he accused the DMK government of shelving this project.
