Karpagam Institute of Technology Hosts Internal Smart India Hackathon 2024

Karpagam Institute of Technology conducted an Internal Smart India Hackathon on September 11-12, 2024. The event featured Hardware and Software Editions, with over 40 teams selected for the national competition.


Coimbatore: Karpagam Institute of Technology (KIT) successfully hosted the Internal Smart India Hackathon 2024 on September 11 and 12, 2024. The two-day event was designed to foster innovation and problem-solving skills among students, preparing them for the national-level competition.

The hackathon was divided into two tracks: the Hardware Edition on September 11 and the Software Edition on September 12. Students from various disciplines formed teams to tackle real-world challenges in areas such as smart cities, healthcare, education, and sustainability.



Throughout the event, participants received guidance from experienced mentors and industry professionals. This mentorship was crucial in helping teams refine their projects, overcome technical obstacles, and enhance their overall solutions.

A panel of judges, comprising faculty members and industry experts, evaluated the projects based on criteria including Uniqueness & Creativity, Feasibility & Practicality, Presentation & Communication, and Future Scope. This comprehensive assessment ensured that the most promising solutions were identified for further development.



The Internal Smart India Hackathon 2024 at KIT simulated a real-world tech development scenario, offering students a chance to apply their skills in a competitive setting. The event aimed to prepare participants for the challenges they may face in their future careers and in the national-level competition.

At the conclusion of the hackathon, more than 40 outstanding teams were selected to represent Karpagam Institute of Technology at the national Smart India Hackathon 2024. This selection highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of KIT students.



The institution expressed pride in the achievements of its students and confidence that their innovative solutions will make a significant impact on the national stage. The internal hackathon has proven to be a valuable experience, enhancing students' skills and preparing them for future technological challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
