1500 Madrasa Students Participate in Milad-un-Nabi Procession in Mettupalayam

Indian Union Muslim League organized a Milad-un-Nabi procession in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district, with 1500 madrasa students participating. Hindu Community Welfare Association members welcomed the procession with refreshments.



Coimbatore: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) organized a grand Milad-un-Nabi procession in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. The event saw the participation of around 1500 students from 60 madrasas in the area.

The procession began at the Periya Pallivasal (Big Mosque) area in Mettupalayam, with IUML district president Jayub flagging off the event. The participants then marched through the main streets of Mettupalayam, including Ooty Road, Bus Stand, and Anna Jeevaram Road, before concluding back at the Periya Pallivasal.

Students from various madrasas enthusiastically took part in the procession, chanting slogans such as "Let's follow the path of the Prophet" and "India is our motherland, Islam is our way of worship." The event showcased the religious fervor and cultural unity of the Muslim community in Mettupalayam.



In a heartening display of communal harmony, members of the Mettupalayam Hindu Community Welfare Association welcomed the procession participants by offering water bottles and refreshments. This gesture was widely appreciated by the Islamic school administrators and children taking part in the event.

The Milad-un-Nabi procession in Mettupalayam, a region with a significant Muslim population in Coimbatore district, serves as an annual celebration of the Prophet's birth and teachings. The event not only brings together the Muslim community but also fosters interfaith understanding and cooperation in the area.
