BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan Addresses Media on Annapoorna Owner's Apology to Finance Minister

BJP Women's Wing President Vanathi Srinivasan held a press conference addressing the viral video of Annapoorna Srinivasan apologizing to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Coimbatore: BJP National Women's Wing President Vanathi Srinivasan addressed the media regarding the recent viral video showing Annapoorna restaurant owner Srinivasan apologizing to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Vanathi Srinivasan stated that the DMK government is neglecting the Vishwakarma scheme introduced by the Central government last September. She accused the DMK of disregarding the welfare of artisans and craftsmen. The BJP leader mentioned that the Central government provides Rs. 15,000 free of cost for purchasing equipment, but the DMK government has halted the scheme due to its animosity towards the Centre.

She urged the Tamil Nadu government to launch the Vishwakarma scheme on September 17, Vishwakarma Jayanti. Vanathi warned that if the scheme is not announced by the 17th, the BJP will stage protests against the DMK government.

Addressing the recent controversy involving Annapoorna restaurant, Vanathi Srinivasan said, "The owner, Srinivasan, claimed he had eaten jalebi and had an argument. The next morning, he contacted me, apologized, and requested to apologize to the Union Finance Minister as well."

She further added that Srinivasan met the Union Minister, apologized, and admitted his mistakes. Vanathi emphasized, "We did not intimidate anyone to apologize. If you want, you can directly ask Annapoorna owner Srinivasan about it."

The BJP leader also mentioned that Central government officials have come from Delhi to address concerns regarding GST issues.
