Coimbatore: The famous Masani Amman Temple in Anaimalai near Pollachi witnessed a massive turnout of devotees on the auspicious occasion of Aadi Perukku. Thousands of worshippers, both locals and those from other states, gathered to seek blessings from the goddess.

The temple, known for its spiritual significance, conducted 18 different types of abhishekams (ritual baths) for the deity as part of the Aadi Perukku celebrations. From early morning, devotees began arriving in large numbers, forming long queues that stretched for hours.

Many devotees were seen lighting lamps near the flagpole (kodimaram) of the temple, fulfilling their vows and offering prayers. The temple administration had taken measures to manage the crowd and ensure the safety of the visitors. Barricades were set up to control the flow of devotees and prevent overcrowding.

Given the massive turnout, hundreds of police personnel were deployed to maintain order and provide security. They were actively involved in crowd management and ensuring a smooth darshan experience for the devotees.

The Aadi Perukku festival, which marks the rising of water levels in rivers, holds special significance in Tamil Nadu. The Masani Amman Temple's celebration of this event attracts devotees from far and wide, making it one of the most important days in the temple's calendar.
