Coimbatore: In a proactive effort to combat the rising concerns of drug abuse among youth and college students, as well as to prevent sexual abuse of children, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan embarked on a 78-kilometer cycle rally. The event, organized ahead of the 78th Independence Day, aimed to create public awareness about these pressing issues.

The cycle rally commenced from the City Police Commissioner's office, with participants ranging from 16-year-olds to senior citizens. Commissioner Balakrishnan flagged off the event, joining the cyclists along with other police personnel and members of the public.

Over 100 enthusiastic participants took part in the rally, which covered a significant portion of the city. The route began at the Commissioner's office and proceeded through Town Hall, Chetty Street, Perur, Pachapalayam, Alandurai, Mathampatti, and Sadi Vayal before reaching Isha Yoga Center.

From Isha, the cyclists made their return journey along the same route, ultimately concluding at the BRS Ground on Avinashi Road. The event culminated with participants taking a pledge at the ground, reinforcing their commitment to the cause.
