Bridge Submerged Near Pollachi, Disrupts Traffic

Heavy rains in Pollachi cause flooding, submerging a low-level bridge in Kaliappagounden Pudur. Traffic disrupted as water levels rise in Aliyar Dam, prompting flood warnings.

Coimbatore: Heavy rains from the southwest monsoon have led to flooding in various parts of Tamil Nadu, including the Pollachi region. The rising water levels in the Aliyar Dam have prompted authorities to issue flood warnings to residents living along the dam's banks.

In Kaliappagounden Pudur near Pollachi, a low-level bridge used for transportation has been submerged due to the overflowing river. This has resulted in the disruption of public transportation in the area, cutting off access for local residents.

Meanwhile, despite the dangerous conditions, many people are risking their lives to take selfies and videos of the flood waters. Local residents have expressed concern over this reckless behavior and have called on authorities to take appropriate action to prevent potential loss of life.

The flood situation continues to be monitored closely by local officials, who are urging residents to stay away from swollen rivers and flooded areas. Emergency services are on high alert to respond to any incidents that may arise due to the ongoing heavy rains and flooding.
