Coimbatore: In a shocking incident near Sulur, Coimbatore, a youth has been arrested for killing his friend who allegedly spoke inappropriately about his sister while under the influence of alcohol. The police are currently investigating the case.

A few days ago, the Sulthanpet police received information about a male corpse with head injuries lying in a forest area outside Odakkalpalayam village near Sulur, Coimbatore district. Upon reaching the spot, the police recovered the body and initiated an investigation. The deceased was identified as Paramasivam (28), son of Marappan, a milk vendor from the same area.

Further investigation revealed that Paramasivam, who used to work at a poultry farm, had not been going to work for several months. Instead, he had been roaming around with friends and had made it a habit to drink alcohol in the forest area on the outskirts of the village at night.

As the police were searching for the killer after registering a case, they arrested Varadarajan, a resident of Odakkalpalayam area. During interrogation, Varadarajan confessed to killing Paramasivam by hitting him with a stone after the latter spoke inappropriately about his sister while drunk.

On the day of the incident, Paramasivam had gone to drink alcohol with his friends Parthiban and Varadarajan. While Parthiban returned home, Paramasivam and Varadarajan continued drinking. In a highly inebriated state, Paramasivam allegedly made inappropriate comments about Varadarajan's sister, which enraged Varadarajan and led to an argument between them.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Varadarajan picked up a nearby stone and struck Paramasivam's head forcefully. Paramasivam suffered severe injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

After fleeing the scene, Varadarajan had been wandering in and around the Vadambasscheri area for the past few days. The Sulthanpet police have now arrested him and are conducting further investigations into the case.
