Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation's West Zone Chairperson Deivayani Tamilmarai conducted an inspection of storm water drain construction sites in Ward 35 on the morning of July 20, 2024. The inspection aimed to assess the locations where new storm water drains need to be constructed to improve the city's drainage system.

Deivayani Tamilmarai first visited Saraswati Street in Ward 35 of the West Zone to examine the area where storm water drains are to be built. Following this, she proceeded to Gandhi Nagar Mookambikai Amman Temple Street in the same ward to inspect another site earmarked for drain construction.



During her visit to Gandhi Nagar, the Zonal Chairperson not only assessed the location but also took the time to interact with local residents. She listened to their grievances and assured them that appropriate measures would be taken to address their concerns regarding the drainage system.

The inspection tour was accompanied by Ward Councillor Sambath, Health Inspector Rajendran, and several local residents. Their presence ensured that various perspectives were considered during the assessment of the drainage requirements in these areas.

This inspection is part of the Coimbatore Corporation's efforts to improve the city's infrastructure and mitigate flooding issues during heavy rains. The construction of proper storm water drains is crucial for effective water management and prevention of waterlogging in residential areas.
