11 Kerala Natives Arrested for Plotting House Robberies in Coimbatore

Kuniamuthur police arrested 11 individuals from Kerala on July 17 for planning house robberies in Coimbatore Pudur area. The suspects were caught during a night patrol near Kulathupalayam.


Coimbatore: In a significant breakthrough, the Kuniamuthur police arrested 11 individuals from Kerala for allegedly plotting house robberies in the Coimbatore Pudur area. The arrests were made on the night of July 17 during a routine patrol near Kulathupalayam.

Inspector Baskaran and Sub-Inspector Raja of the Kuniamuthur police station were on night patrol in the Kulathupalayam area near Coimbatore Pudur when they noticed a suspicious group. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the group was planning to rob houses in Coimbatore Pudur.

The arrested individuals were identified as Muhamad Yadin (40), Sunil (45), and Abdul Kareem (47) from Kannur, Kerala; Salim Malik (25) and Shajahan (26) from Tiruppur Mangalam; Samal (46) from Kannur, Kerala; Navpeel Kasim Sheikh (29) from Karnataka; and Muhammad Yasir (18) from Tiruppur Kangeyam. One suspect, identified as Saravanan, managed to escape during the operation.

Following their arrest, the 11 suspects were produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The police are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the planned robberies and to apprehend the escaped suspect.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating organized crime and the importance of vigilant policing in maintaining public safety. The Coimbatore police have urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
