Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj Distributes Housing Scheme Orders Worth Rs 9.79 Crore in Dharapuram

Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj distributed orders for Kalaignar Kanavu Illam housing scheme and rural house repair projects to 462 beneficiaries in Dharapuram, Mulanur, and Kundadam panchayat unions, worth Rs 9.79 crore.


Tirupur: Minister for Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, distributed orders for the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam housing scheme and rural house repair projects to 462 beneficiaries from Dharapuram, Mulanur, and Kundadam panchayat unions. The event, held at the Dharapuram Municipality Arima Hall, saw the distribution of orders worth Rs 9.79 crore.



The event was presided over by Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Officer Senthil Arasan. Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj highlighted various schemes implemented by the Tamil Nadu government under Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's leadership. She emphasized the government's focus on promptly delivering essential schemes to the people.



Elaborating on the housing scheme, the Minister said, "The Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme, an expansion of the concrete housing project initiated by former Chief Minister Kalaignar, aims to make Tamil Nadu a hut-free state by 2030. This fiscal year, 1,00,000 houses will be constructed under this scheme."



The Minister also spoke about other initiatives such as the "Makkaludan Mudhalvar" program, free bus travel for women, loan waivers for women's self-help groups and jewel loans, electricity connections for farmers, and various educational schemes including the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme and the Pudhumai Penn Scheme.

The distribution of orders included:

- 39 beneficiaries from Dharapuram Panchayat Union: Rs 1.36 crore (Rs 3.50 lakh each)

- 40 beneficiaries from Moolanur Panchayat Union: Rs 1.40 crore (Rs 3.50 lakh each)

- 170 beneficiaries from Kundadam Panchayat Union: Rs 5.95 crore (Rs 3.50 lakh each)

- 213 beneficiaries for maintenance of group houses: Rs 1.08 crore



The event was attended by various local officials and political representatives, including Tirupur Corporation 4th Zone Chairman Il. Padmanaban, Dharapuram Municipal Council Chairman Pappu Kannan, Dharapuram Panchayat Union Committee Chairman S.V. Senthilkumar, and Mulanurr Panchayat Union Committee Vice Chairman Palanisamy. Block Development Officers, Assistant Engineers from the Rural Development Department, and representatives of local bodies were also present.
