Coimbatore: A one-day regional symposium focused on addressing the physical and mental health challenges faced by adolescents was held at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. The event was jointly organized by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Adolescent Health Academy.

The symposium saw participation from over 100 doctors hailing from various South Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.

Officials from the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Adolescent Health Academy were also present at the event.

The symposium was inaugurated by the organization's officials, including Dr. Ismail, Dr. Lakshmi Shanthi, and Dr. Jayashree. The event aimed to discuss and find solutions for the health issues affecting adolescents, particularly those between the ages of 10 and 18.

Trainers provided detailed explanations, accompanied by illustrative diagrams, on the physical and mental health problems commonly encountered by adolescents. They also offered advice and solutions to address these issues effectively. The symposium placed special emphasis on how medical professionals should approach problems arising from cell phone usage, substance abuse, and dietary habits among adolescents.

The gathering served as a platform for medical professionals to exchange knowledge and strategies for tackling the unique challenges faced by today's youth. By focusing on both physical and mental aspects of adolescent health, the symposium aimed to equip doctors with comprehensive approaches to address the evolving needs of this crucial age group.
