Salem Railway Division announces timing changes for Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express (Train No. 12623) on the Coimbatore route, effective from July 15. New departure time from Chennai set at 7:30 PM.

Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced a significant change in the schedule of the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express (Train No. 12623) that runs through the Coimbatore route. This alteration in timing will come into effect from July 15, as per a recent press release from the railway authorities.

Currently, the daily Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express departs from Chennai at 7:45 PM and reaches Thiruvananthapuram at 11:30 AM the following day. However, starting July 15, the train will leave Chennai at 7:30 PM, fifteen minutes earlier than its current schedule.

According to the new timetable, the train will arrive at Salem at 11:55 PM, reach Coimbatore at 2:25 AM the next day, and finally arrive at Thiruvananthapuram at 11:20 AM. This revised schedule aims to optimize the train's journey and potentially improve its punctuality.

Passengers who frequently use this route are advised to take note of these changes to avoid any inconvenience. The railway authorities have not provided any specific reason for this schedule modification, but it is assumed to be part of their ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency.

This change in timing might affect the travel plans of regular commuters, especially those who use the train for business or educational purposes. Travelers are encouraged to check the updated schedule before planning their journeys on this route from July 15 onwards.

The Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express is a popular train service connecting major cities in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Its passage through Coimbatore, an important industrial and educational hub in Tamil Nadu, makes it a crucial link for many travelers in the region.
