Congress Protests Against BJP State President Annamalai in Coimbatore

Coimbatore North District Congress Committee held a protest at Gandhi Park on July 11, 2024, condemning Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai's remarks against TNCC President Selvaperunthagai MLA.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore North District Congress Committee organized a protest and rally at Gandhi Park on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The demonstration was held to condemn Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai for his alleged derogatory remarks and false accusations against Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President Selvaperunthagai MLA.

The protest was led by District President VMC Manoharan and saw the participation of several key Congress leaders. State Vice President MN Kandasamy ex-MLA, Municipal Congress Group leader Alagu Jayapalan, State General Secretaries Pachaimuthu and PS Saravanakumar MC, State Secretaries V Vijayakumar, and State Youth Congress Vice President Naveen Kumar MC were among those present at the forefront.



District Vice President V Venkidapathi delivered the welcome address, while Circle President IS Mani gave the vote of thanks. The event witnessed a large turnout of Congress party members and supporters from various parts of Coimbatore.

Notable attendees included Sultanpet Govindraj, district executives AG Aruchamy, VM Rangasamy, Selvapuram Anand, OBC Working President Palanisamy, Mohanraj, Lalitha Mohanraj, Ganapathy Ashok Kumar, Perur Mayil, Mariyappan Durai Aruldas, Rajkumar, and several ward presidents such as Karatte Ramasamy, P Balasubramaniam, Kamaraj, Thangamani, Velusamy, Mallika Jayaprakash, MV Nagaraj, Jamaluddin, Murugesan, Soundarraj, Ponraj, Sulur Kannan, and many others.

The protest highlighted the growing tensions between the Congress and BJP in Tamil Nadu, with both parties engaging in verbal confrontations ahead of future electoral battles.
