Public Demand for Government Bus Service from Valparai to Thrissur

Residents of Valparai and Thrissur urge for direct government bus service connecting the two cities via Pollachi and Palakkad, citing existing routes and public convenience.

Coimbatore: Residents from Tamil Nadu and Kerala have jointly called for the introduction of a direct government bus service from Valparai to Thrissur via Pollachi and Palakkad. The demand was raised on July 10, highlighting the need for better inter-state connectivity.

Currently, private buses operate from Valparai to Chalakudy via Athirappilly, while a daily government bus service runs from Valparai to Mannargudi via Pollachi. The public argues that a similar service should be established to connect Valparai directly to Thrissur.

The proposed route would significantly benefit travelers from both states, providing a convenient and direct public transportation option. This demand underscores the growing need for improved connectivity between the hill station of Valparai and the cultural city of Thrissur, potentially boosting tourism and trade between the two regions.

Local authorities from both Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expected to consider this request, as it aligns with the broader goal of enhancing interstate transportation networks. The implementation of such a service could greatly improve accessibility and foster closer ties between the communities of Valparai and Thrissur.
