Coimbatore: A tragic incident has shaken the Nesavalar Colony in Ondipudur, Coimbatore, as a mother and her two young daughters were found dead in a water tank on Saturday morning. The Singanallur police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

The deceased have been identified as Pushpa (28) and her daughters Harini (9) and Shivani (3). Pushpa's husband, Thangaraj (40), a construction worker, is currently being questioned by the police.

According to neighbors, Thangaraj had a habit of coming home drunk and engaging in frequent arguments with his wife. On Friday evening, July 7, Thangaraj reportedly returned home in an inebriated state, leading to another heated argument between the couple. Neighbors, accustomed to such disputes, initially dismissed the commotion as routine.

However, alarm bells rang when Pushpa and her children failed to emerge from their home on Saturday morning. Concerned neighbors questioned Thangaraj about his family's whereabouts, but his inconsistent responses aroused suspicion. They immediately alerted the Singanallur police.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the bodies of Pushpa and her two daughters floating in the water tank inside the house. The bodies were recovered and sent to the Coimbatore ESI Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The police have registered a case and are investigating from various angles. They are trying to determine whether the deaths were a result of murder or suicide. Thangaraj is being interrogated, as his contradictory statements have raised further questions.

As the investigation unfolds, the local community remains in shock over the tragic loss of three lives. The Singanallur police are working diligently to uncover the truth behind this distressing incident.
