Former AIADMK MP KC Palanisamy Criticizes Edappadi Palaniswami, Plans to Meet Sasikala

Former AIADMK MP KC Palanisamy accused Edappadi Palaniswami of political ignorance and announced plans to meet Sasikala. He criticized Palaniswami's leadership and claimed AIADMK votes have shifted to DMK in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: Former AIADMK MP KC Palanisamy has strongly criticized party leader Edappadi Palaniswami, accusing him of political ignorance and failing to unite the party. Speaking to reporters at the Coimbatore Court complex, Palanisamy announced that a coordination committee would soon meet Sasikala as a first step towards party reunification.

Palanisamy stated that he had filed a case against Edappadi Palaniswami in the Coimbatore court for defamatory remarks made on the 13th. He also expressed concern over the declining vote share of AIADMK, noting that many votes had shifted to DMK, particularly in Coimbatore.

"The AIADMK is not Edappadi Palaniswami's father's property. It belongs to one and a half crore party workers," Palanisamy asserted. He emphasized the need to embrace everyone who wants to see AIADMK succeed, drawing parallels to how Janaki Ammal had stepped aside for party unity and how Jayalalithaa had accepted those who had previously left the party.

Accusing Palaniswami of still functioning at the level of a branch secretary, Palanisamy said, "He has no intention of accommodating anyone. All his statements stem from political ignorance." He further added that Palaniswami was unfit for AIADMK leadership, citing the party's failure to contest in the Vikravandi by-election as an example of poor decision-making.

KC Palanisamy concluded by reiterating the plan to meet Sasikala, signaling a potential shift in AIADMK's internal dynamics and a possible move towards reunification of various factions.
