Cyber Crimes Pose Technical Challenge to Police: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan addresses rising cyber crimes, promises swift action through specialized teams. Announces plans for disabled-friendly facilities at police stations and conducts health camp for officers.


Coimbatore: City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan has acknowledged that the increasing number of cyber crimes poses a technical challenge to the police force. Speaking to reporters, he assured that special teams are investigating cyber crime cases and offenders will be arrested promptly.

The Commissioner made these statements during a comprehensive medical camp organized for police personnel at the Police Training School ground on Avinashi Road. The camp, initiated by the Svarga Foundation, was inaugurated by Commissioner Balakrishnan and offered a wide range of medical services including Ayurveda, endocrinology, physiotherapy, women's health, lung examinations, and dental and eye check-ups.



Addressing the media, Balakrishnan emphasized the importance of maintaining the health and well-being of police officers. He mentioned that various camps are being conducted regularly for this purpose, with this particular event being a part of that initiative.

The Commissioner also announced plans to soon establish special facilities for differently-abled citizens visiting the Commissioner's office and police stations. Regarding cyber crimes, he stated that while continuous awareness programs are being conducted, some people still fall victim to such crimes. He assured that dedicated teams are investigating these cases to ensure swift arrests of culprits.



The camp's inauguration was attended by Deputy Commissioners Saravanan and Sughasini, Assistant Commissioner Sekar, Svarga Foundation Trustee Dinesh Kumar Pandya, Administrative Trustee Swarnalatha, Trustee Guruprasad, and other police officials.
