'MYV3ADS' App Owner Surrenders in Court

Sakti Anandan, owner of 'MYV3ADS' app, surrenders in Chennai court following allegations of financial fraud. Court orders judicial custody until July 19, with bail hearing set for July 9.

Coimbatore: The owner of the controversial 'MYV3ADS' app, Sakti Anandan from Coimbatore district, surrendered before a special court in Chennai on Wednesday (July 5). This development comes after allegations of financial fraud through the app, which promised monetary rewards for watching video advertisements.

In January, the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) filed a complaint with the Coimbatore City Police against Sakti Anandan and his company. The complaint alleged that 'MYV3ADS' was defrauding people by promising high profits to those who became members and viewed video advertisements through the app.

Initially, the case was investigated by the Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police but was later transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Chennai. Sakti Anandan had previously applied for anticipatory bail, which was rejected by the court. Subsequently, the court ordered him to surrender before the special court in Chennai that handles financial institution fraud cases.

Judge Malar Valandhina of the special court ordered Sakti Anandan to be remanded in judicial custody until July 19. The accused has filed a petition seeking bail and requesting first-class facilities in jail. The hearing for this petition has been adjourned to July 9.

The MY V3 ADS case has garnered significant attention due to its promises of easy money through a digital platform, highlighting the growing concern over potential online financial scams.
