VHP Files Complaint Against Pastor for Allegedly Insulting Hinduism in Coimbatore

Vishva Hindu Parishad lodged a complaint at R.S. Puram Police Station against Pastor Prince Calvin of CSI Immanuel Church for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Hinduism during a recent event in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) filed a complaint at the R.S. Puram Police Station on July 4 against Pastor Prince Calvin of CSI Immanuel Church in Coimbatore, accusing him of making derogatory remarks about Hinduism.

According to the complaint, during an event held at CSI Immanuel Church on Sunday, June 16, 2024, Pastor Prince Calvin allegedly made disparaging comments about Hindu beliefs and practices. A video of the pastor's speech has since gone viral on social media platforms.

The VHP representatives stated in their complaint that they believe the pastor deliberately made these statements, knowing that such actions could lead to unnecessary tensions and spread religious animosity. They urged the police to take immediate action and register a case against Pastor Prince Calvin.

The organization emphasized that such inflammatory speeches could potentially disrupt communal harmony and requested swift legal action to address the issue. The police have received the complaint and are expected to investigate the matter further.

As of now, there has been no official statement from the CSI Immanuel Church or Pastor Prince Calvin regarding the allegations. The incident has sparked discussions about religious sensitivity and the responsible use of speech in public forums.
