Collector Inaugurates New Toilets Worth Rs 33.50 Lakh at Coimbatore Government Arts College

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated new toilet facilities for female students at Government Arts College on July 5. The Rs 33.50 lakh project was funded by Emerald Jewel Industry India Limited through CSR initiative.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated new toilet facilities for female students at the Government Arts College in Coimbatore on Wednesday, July 5. The project, valued at Rs 33.50 lakh, was funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by the Girisha Foundation of Emerald Jewel Industry India Limited.

The new sanitation facilities, constructed specifically for female students, mark a significant improvement in the college's infrastructure. Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, after inaugurating the building, delivered a keynote address at the event.



Srinivasan, Chairman of Emerald Jewel Industry and Managing Trustee of Girisha Foundation, addressed the students during the ceremony. He highlighted the various social progress initiatives undertaken by the foundation and encouraged students to engage in social service in their future endeavors after completing their education.



The event was attended by several notable figures, including Dr. Ezhili, Principal of the Government Arts College, officials from Emerald Jewel Industry, college professors, and a large number of students. The new facilities are expected to greatly benefit the female student population of the college, enhancing their comfort and convenience during their academic pursuits.

This project exemplifies the positive impact of corporate-academic partnerships in improving educational infrastructure and student welfare. It also underscores the importance of providing adequate sanitation facilities in educational institutions, particularly for female students.
