Patient Welfare Association Meeting Held at Pollachi Government Hospital

Pollachi Sub-Collector Catherine Saranya IAS chaired the Patient Welfare Association meeting at Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital on July 4, 2024, discussing various improvements and initiatives.


Coimbatore: The Patient Welfare Association meeting was held at the Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital on July 4, 2024, under the leadership of Pollachi Sub-Collector Catherine Saranya IAS.



The event was attended by Pollachi Municipality Chairperson Shyamala Navaneetha Krishnan, along with Patient Welfare Association members, hospital doctors, nurses, and other government officials.



Dr. Saravanan Prakash, the Residential Medical Officer, delivered the welcome address, while Hospital Superintendent Dr. Raja presented the annual report. The Sub-Collector responded to the requests made by the Patient Welfare Association members.

Several key decisions were made during the meeting. It was decided to raise a corpus fund for the Patient Welfare Association from service organizations. Additionally, plans were made to purchase necessary equipment for the hospital through CSR initiatives.

The association put forth various requests, including:

1. Installation of a speed breaker at the hospital gate

2. Removal of unauthorized shops near the hospital entrance

3. Daily garbage collection from the hospital premises

4. Monthly cleaning of the hospital by municipal sanitation workers

5. Provision of free CT scans through the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, replacing the previous Rs. 500 fee

6. Free hearing tests for all newborns through the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Comprehensive Insurance Scheme

7. The imminent opening of the newly inaugurated paid ward by the Tamil Nadu Health Minister

8. Construction of a new building for the hospital at a cost of Rs. 39 crore through JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) funding



The meeting concluded with these significant announcements aimed at improving healthcare services and facilities at the Pollachi Government Hospital.
