Aliyar Falls Reopened After Six Months, Welcomes Tourists for a Refreshing Swim

After six months of closure due to dry conditions, Aliyar Falls located near Pollachi within Anaimalai Tiger Reserve was reopened for tourists who enjoyed a joyful swim.

Coimbatore: The Aliyar Falls, situated in the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve near Pollachi, welcomed back ecstatic tourists today after being closed since January due to dry spells. Initially, the lack of water had led to the denial of entry for visitors, causing disappointment among many who were turned away.

Recent southwest monsoons in the Western Ghats have rejuvenated the once barren falls, leading to substantial water flow and eventual overflow.

Following this, forest authorities conducted rituals this morning and officially reopened the falls.

Thrilled tourists are now enjoying refreshing swims in the revitalized waters, marking a joyous return to one of the region's beloved natural attractions.
