Coimbatore: In a significant display of opposition against caste-based atrocities, the Tamilpuligal Katchi organized a state-wide protest in Coimbatore on July 1. The demonstration was primarily against the honor killing that took place in Madurai and the ransacking of a CPI(M) office in Nellai.

The protest was orchestrated by the party's western region youth secretary, Thambisenthil, and took place in front of the South Tahsildar Office in Coimbatore. Several activists gathered to voice their demands for stricter measures against caste violence and to reinforce their stance on inter-caste marriages, which currently face severe societal resistance and violence. The protestors called for immediate action and justice for the victims of these heinous acts, asserting their commitment to fight against social injustices.
