Coimbatore: The state executive meeting of the Kamarajar Makkal Katchi was conducted at S.N. Arangam located on Trichy Road in Coimbatore, on June 30. Tamilaruvi Manian, the party leader spearheaded the program and spoke in depth about various pressing subjects, notably addressing the tragic incident in Kallakurichi district where 65 individuals lost their lives due to illicit liquor consumption. He emphasized the need for a rigorous investigation and strict penalties against the perpetrators, including brewers, complicit government officials, police, and representatives.

Further points were raised about inaction during election periods, particularly concerning allegations of monetary influence on voters in Vikkiravandi. Additionally, the meeting delved into the NEET examination malpractices and the central government’s initiative to convene a high-level committee to reform competitive examinations. Manian underscored that these efforts seem to undermine state governance and suggested that educational authority should return to state control.

A significant infrastructure focus discussed was the integrated waterway project linking the Kaveri, Gundar, and Vaigai rivers, benefiting 3,39,000 hectares spanning from Karur to Ramanathapuram, which would also provide drinking water facilities to drought-prone districts. The swift implementation of this long-delayed project was called for to accelerate development in southern districts. Key attendees included general secretary Kumariya, women's wing leader Valliyammal, and Coimbatour district leader Nedumaran.
