Changes in Train Numbers on Coimbatore Route Announced by Salem Railway Division

Salem Railway Division recently announced the renumbering of six trains operating on the Coimbatore route effective from July 1. The changes aim to streamline operations.


Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has declared a modification in the numbering of six trains plying on the Coimbatore route, which will be effective from July 1st. According to the announcement, the Thiruvananthapuram - Silchar Weekly Express, previously numbered 12507, will now operate as 15677. Similarly, the train from Silchar to Thiruvananthapuram, formerly 12508, has been renumbered to 15678.


In addition, the Coimbatore - Silchar Weekly Train, earlier designated as 12515, will change to 15675, and the return service from Silchar to Coimbatore, initially 12516, will now be 12676. The Kanyakumari - Dibrugarh Express, earlier numbered 22503, will operate as 15905 and its counterpart from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari, previously 22504, will run as 15906. These changes are part of an effort to improve the efficiency of train operations on this route.
