Pollachi Receives Advanced Medical Equipment Worth Rs 25 Lakhs; Anand Kumar Discusses Vaccine Developments

In a significant development, Pollachi District Hospital received medical equipment worth Rs 25 lakhs, funded by the local Rotary Club. The event was attended by Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and featured Anand Kumar, MD of Indian Immunologicals, discussing upcoming vaccines.


Coimbatore: During a highly anticipated event hosted by the Rotary Club of Pollachi, the local District Government Hospital was the recipient of state-of-the-art medical equipment valued at Rs 25 lakhs. The gear, essential for surgeries, intensive care, and blood bank services, was formally handed over by the Pollachi Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati.




Adding significant value to the event, Anand Kumar, the Managing Director of Indian Immunologicals, delivered an insightful talk. He detailed the company’s ongoing research and developments in vaccines preventing diseases such as Dengue and Chikungunya. Kumar shared exciting news about a potential Dengue vaccine expected to be ready in the next two years. Furthermore, during a press meeting, he highlighted the role of their Hyderabad-based firm in manufacturing and exporting vaccines to over 60 countries, even during the critical COVID-19 period at the behest of the Central Government. Kumar also noted that vaccine research, particularly for Yellow Fever, had found significant strides in India, with active support from the Central Government.
