Intensive Police Inspection at Coimbatore Railway Station Following Smuggling Reports

Following information about the smuggling of ganja and gutka products from northern states to Tamil Nadu via trains, a thorough inspection was conducted at Coimbatore Railway Station.


Coimbatore: Acting on intelligence about the smuggling of ganja and gutka from northern states into Tamil Nadu, police teams from various districts are conducting extensive checks at several railway stations across the state. As part of these efforts, under the orders of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, joint teams of city police and railway police carried out inspections on trains coming from northern states at Coimbatore railway station.

Travelers' belongings were also scrutinized during these checks. About 10 kilos of gutka, intended for sale, were discovered during the search. Following this, four individuals from the northern states were detained, and further investigations are underway to uncover more details related to this smuggling operation.
