Awareness Rally on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Celebrating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2024, students organized with Tamil Nadu Police in Divansapudur to spread awareness about the dangers of drug use.


Coimbatore: Every year on June 26th, the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to raise awareness among the youth about the perils of drug usage and its impact on society, culture, education, and family welfare.



To commemorate this significant day, students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) at the Pollachi Vanavarayar Institute of Agriculture collaborated with the Tamil Nadu Police, Anamalai division, to organize an "Awareness Rally" in Divansapudur on June 26, 2024.



The rally was inaugurated by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Samuthirapandian, who alongside the NSS students raised slogans against drug abuse.



This event was tailored to elucidate the detrimental effects of drug consumption. Coordinated by the NSS coordinators, Dr. G. Thamodharan, Dr. N. Naveena, Dr. H. Shankararaman, Deputy Inspector Kennedy, and Inspector Murugavel, it underscored the community's commitment to battling this global issue.
