Two Arrested in Coimbatore for Fraudulent Land Record Changes Using Unauthorized Access

In Coimbatore, two individuals were arrested for making unauthorized changes in land records using the credentials of the Senior Draftsman without permission, prompting an investigation by the Cyber Crime Police.


Coimbatore: The Cyber Crime Police of Coimbatore have arrested two men for their involvement in unauthorized modifications of land records. Suresh Kumar, 39, a resident and investigator in the city's eastern municipal zone, reported suspicions of unauthorized use of a user ID and password assigned to the Senior Draftsman at the Coimbatore Land Survey Department.


Following the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police commenced investigations and discovered that unauthorized changes, including alterations in land patta documents, had been made. Arun Prathap, 43, from Cheranpalayam, employed at the Coimbatore South Tahsildar’s office, and Manikandan, 34, a temporary staff member in the IT department from Pappanaickenpalayam, were identified as suspects. They were arrested on June 27 for manipulating the patta transfer processes by unlawfully accessing the department's digital records without authorization.
