Coimbatore District Announces Financial Aid for Law Graduates with Disabilities

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati announced guidelines for financial assistance to differently-abled law graduates in Coimbatore for the fiscal year 2024-2025 to cover registration fees and purchase of necessary legal texts.


Coimbatore: Kranthi Kumar Pati, the Collector of Coimbatr District, has released guidelines for a financial aid scheme aimed at supporting differently-abled law graduates in Coimbatore. The program is designed for the fiscal year 2024-2025 and seeks to assist eligible individuals by covering fees for registering as lawyers and purchasing necessary legal texts.




Eligibility criteria includes a minimum disability percentage of 40%, registration with the Tamil Nadu Bar Council or the Puducherry Bar Council, and residence in Tamil Nadu with proof of identity as a differently-abled person. Applicants who studied law in states other than Tamil Nadu must provide an undertaking certificate confirming they have not benefited from similar schemes elsewhere.




Interested candidates must ensure that they have not previously received financial assistance under any other department like the Backward Classes, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department. Applications with necessary documents including a copy of the National Identity Card, Aadhar Card, law degree provisional certificate, and registration certification from the Bar Council can be submitted to the District Differently Abled Welfare Office, District Collectorate, Coimbatore-18, either in person or by post on or before July 31, 2024.
